“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it…”
— Revelation 1:3, NIV
🕊️ Are You Listening or Adding Your Own Meaning?
This week, we walked through valleys of mystery, climbed towers of understanding, and listened to voices—both divine and human—trying to make sense of what God is saying.
🌄 Sunday – “Whoever Reads, Let Him Understand” (Haiti)
In the misty hills of Kenscoff, a skeptical student met a humble seamstress (a woman who sews and makes clothes) and a wise pastor. Together, they discovered that prophecy is not meant to confuse but to reveal. Understanding comes when we stop debating and start listening with open hearts.
🌊 Monday – “God Wants to Be Understood” (Tanzania)
In the fog on Lake Tanganyika, a father in a boat listened to his son in a tower. Though he couldn’t see, he trusted the voice that guided him. Just like God, who sees what we cannot, and lovingly gives us just enough light to take the next step.
🔐 Tuesday – “Daniel—Shut Up the Words” (India)
A high school girl in Tamil Nadu discovered that some parts of God’s Word are sealed for a reason—but not forever. When God closes something, it’s not rejection—it’s preparation. He reveals things at the right time.
📚 Wednesday – “Studying the Word” (Wales, UK)
We met Mary Jones, a barefoot teen who walked 26 miles for her very own Bible. Her journey launched the British and Foreign Bible Society, making Scripture available across the globe. She didn’t just study the Word—she lived it with all her heart.
🧩 Thursday – “Figurative or Literal?” (Colombia)
In the mountains of Colombia, Joaquín helped Sofia decode prophecy—not by guessing, but by letting the Bible explain itself. She realized that not everything is literal, but everything is meaningful—if we read with prayer and humility.
🔥 Personal Reflection:
- Do I approach God’s Word to hear Him—or to confirm my own ideas?
- Before using Google for meanings, ask: Where else in the Bible does this symbol or phrase appear?
- Like Marc in Haiti or Sofia in Colombia, we understand more when we study with others who are also seeking God’s voice.
- Pray before and after reading; Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your mind, not just your eyes.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, help me to listen when You speak.
Teach me to stop adding my own meaning where You’ve already spoken clearly.
Give me a heart like Mary Jones, a spirit like Zuberi, and wisdom like Joaquín.
Let Your Word be the compass I trust, not the map I redraw.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
